Dental implants

Dental implants are the best option for replacing missing teeth. An implant is like a titanium screw that is inserted into your jawbone where the root of your original tooth used to be. Your dentist can then place a crown or bridge on top of the implant in order to give you beautiful, functional new teeth, or use the implant to help secure dentures more firmly in place.

Implants typically last a lifetime with proper care, although the crowns or dentures on top will need to be replaced over time. Types of implants include:

• Single implant. If you have a single missing tooth, your dentist can place an implant and top it with a crown. The result will be almost indistinguishable from your original tooth.
• Bridge. Like a traditional bridge, an implant-supported bridge can be used to fill in a larger gap in your smile. However, the bridge attaches to several implants, rather than to two of your remaining teeth, which provides for a studier, more secure bite.
• Implant-supported dentures. Traditional dentures clip into place, which means they can easily come loose and even fall out of your mouth. However, we can install a series of implants that can help hold your dentures in place more securely, so you can feel confident going about your day.
• Full arch implants. If you’re ready to take a step up from dentures, we can use implants to give you a full new set of teeth. Our dentists perform the All-on-4 technique that uses implants topped with bridges to restore both the appearance and the function of your original teeth. If properly maintained, these implants will last a lifetime.
